Rules & Regulations
  1. Interested persons must complete relevant application form.
  2. Participants must be either; a student of health and education the student must be able to identify the relevance of the placement to their coursework.
  3. Participant can also be a qualified doctor, nurse, teacher, health professional or students.
  4. Individual researchers and research institutions can also join the program
  5. Maximum duration of placement is sixty (60) days
  6. Fee must be fully paid three (3) weeks before arriving in Ghana.
  7. Rules and regulation guiding traveling to Ghana must be observed accordingly and very visit place as well respectively.
  8. Communication should be made to GBIO within 48hours before your flight departs from your home country, to confirm collection and accommodation details in Ghana.
  9. Participants will have both city and village experiences under this program.
  10. Certificate of volunteerism will be issued at the completion of the program.
Safety & Security

With our applicant placement confirmed, their safety and security is our priority. The following are some of the measures management of GBIO have put in place;

ACCOMMODATION:

GBIO’s has spacious, comfortable and exclusive accommodation. The houses are shared, but private and accessible with 24/7 security. Our houses are located in safe neighborhoods.

BEFORE YOU TRAVEL:

Regular communication will go on between the applicant and our expert team at GBIO before your trip. Applicants will receive detailed information about travel destination and the hospital which you will undertake your placement.

GBIO will fully prepare you for all aspects of your trip. The preparations will give you the confidence you need to feel safe and secure in unfamiliar surroundings.
During this process, you will have ample time to discuss any concerns and raise questions and we at GBIO will be glad to answer all questions, concerns and clarifications.

ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE:

Before you arrive at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) in Ghana, a staff(s) will be there to pick you. When departing from Ghana to your country after your internship/programme, our team will take you to the KIA in Accra.

HEALTH INSTITUTIONS:

GBIO has partnerships and very good relations with the Ghana Health Service and Ghana Education Service. This means that your placement in Hospitals, Clinics, Schools e.t.c is assured. Our Programmes Officers will take you to your placement for official introduction and hand over to the head/administrator of the hospital, clinic, schools e.t.c. However, some Directors of GBIO are health practitioners as well. It confidently assures practitioners and students that will partake their internship with GBIO of an ultimate internship experience.

MEANS OF TRANSPORT:

GBIO will officially transport all interns from Airport to Placement Destination. We will provide transport on daily basis for interns to their placement of work (hospital, clinics, schools) if only it is not a walking distance (2km) from the GBIO house.
